MIRI® Laminar Flow Cabinet
The MIRI® Laminar Flow cabinet is a specialized piece of equipment that allows for a controlled, laminar airflow. It is designed with a vertical airflow configuration and is equipped with electronically commuted motor (ECM) technology that can provide excellent energy efficiency. The cabinet is available in different sizes, ranging from 3 to 6 feet, depending on your needs.

A laminar flow cabinet is designed to prevent contamination of the sample being worked on. The cabinet's airflow configuration draws air through a main filter, typically a HEPA or ULPA filter. The filtered air is then blown towards the user in a laminar flow pattern, protecting the sample. The main filtration system can trap microair particulates and/or microbes from the ambient air, providing only clean and sterile air to the working zone. The laminar flow cabinet is also designed with stainless steel material, which has no gaps or joints that can accumulate microbes and promote their growth.
Vertical laminar flow cabinets
are widely used in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) laboratories and the
field of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). The MIRI® laminar flow cabinet
ensures a constant and reliable flow of HEPA/ULPA filtered air into the working
zone, which flows unidirectionally downwards. This configuration ensures that
sample handling can be protected throughout the process. The perforation system
at the back wall of the MIRI® Laminar Flow Cabinet is designed to eliminate air
turbulence and the possibility of dead air zones at the corners of the working surface.
A laminar flow cabinet is designed to protect only the sample, not the personnel handling it. This means that laminar flow cabinets are unsuitable for handling pathogenic or harmful samples as they could pose a risk of infection to the personnel. Therefore, the MIRI® Laminar Flow can be effectively used to handle samples in the ART field.
The cabinet's main HEPA/ULPA filter ensures air is filtered with 99.9995% efficiency, providing clean airflow into the work zone to protect the samples.
Esco Medical's MIRI® Laminar Flow cabinet has a high-efficiency ECM blower that produces less noise and vibration, creating a more suitable working environment.
The MIRI® Laminar Flow cabinet can include a microscope mounting pole, allowing microscopic observations to be conducted inside the cabinet. Additionally, the optional LED light source for the microscope enhances the user's everyday working experience.
